Application and measuring principle

The crankpin spirit level is designed for short horizontal surfaces, crankshafts and journals on engines and machines. Its flat base, longitudinal prism and transverse prism allow secure positioning on different geometries.

Design and technical features

The textured cast body has finely ground measuring surfaces. A ground divided longitudinal vial, cross vial and full thermal protection support reliable readings. The cross vial has a graduation of 0.8 mm/m.

Selecting the suitable version

Lengths of 60, 90 and 120 mm and sensitivities from 0.6 to 0.04 mm/m are available. Short versions fit confined spaces, while finer vials suit more accurate alignment.

Practical use, handling and calibration

The instrument is supplied in a case. Prisms, base and workpiece must be clean. Temperature equalisation and brief handling improve repeatability. Ballbach supports selection, repair and calibration.
