About Ballbach
From a repair workshop to a partner for metrology.
In 1965, Günter Ballbach founded the company as a repair workshop for measuring tools. After moving to larger premises and following a fire in 1967, the company made a new start in Altensteig.
Over the following decades, Ballbach developed into a specialized partner for calibration, repair service, sales and custom solutions in dimensional metrology.
Today, we combine many years of experience with modern testing technology, personal consulting and practical solutions for our customers.
Foundation
Founded as a repair workshop for measuring tools, initially in Fellbach.
Altensteig
Relocation to Altensteig and expansion of the service offering.
Own location
Move into the first company-owned building at today’s location.
Calibration
First fully air-conditioned and computer-monitored measuring room.
New administration building
Move into the administration building with fully air-conditioned calibration laboratory.

We repair length measuring instruments and measuring equipment from many well-known manufacturers and assess whether repair is economically viable.

Sustainability & responsibility
With our photovoltaic system and battery storage, we generate a large part of our electricity demand ourselves and achieve an electricity autonomy of around 70% at our site. In addition, we are gradually advancing the electrification of our operations, including the use of electric vehicles.
